Rand Paul says he was misunderstood on using drones against common criminals

“My comments last night left the mistaken impression that my position on drones had changed,” Paul said in a statement late Tuesday. ”Let me be clear: it has not. Armed drones should not be used in normal crime situations. They may only be considered in extraordinary, lethal situations where there is an ongoing, imminent threat. I described that scenario previously during my Senate filibuster.”

As I expected…he misspoke. While it is good to keep politicians accountable, everytime one says something that is not completely “libertarian” lets not immediately call them a fascist, statist, and/or neo-con.
